Kukuxumusu, among the greats of designing

Kukuxumusu is currently participating in the Ist International Festival of Design in Costa Rica. The event is being held in San José and until next March 12th, some of the most prestigious designers in the world will attend this festival.
Mikel Urmeneta, founder-member and creative director of Kukuxumusu, was in charge of opening the festival. In his speech, entitled “Kukuxumusu: theory of an evoluzoo”, Urmeneta outlined how the trademark has maintained its tradition from the beginning of drawing animals in human situations to show up many of mankind’s ridiculous postures.
Before a crowded audience, made up of some 1.500 attendants, the “alma mater” of Kukuxumusu reviewed and commented on some 200 drawings, among them some of the most characteristic and emblematic ones from Kukuxumusu.
The conference closed with a singular image; all the attendants wearing some Kukuxumusu masks.
The Festival will run until next 12th of March, and over the three days the attendants will hear from some of the great international designers from around the world such as The Northamerican Joshua Davis, The Argentinean Max-O-Matic, The graphic designer Paula Scher or the American illustrator, Luka Lukova.
