The kulumutxu is presented in society

Jose Andres and Kukuxumusu this morning presented the new kulumutxu, the special recipe drink prepared by the well-known chef for Sanfermin 2008. Almost one thousand people were waiting to sample the sherbet made specially for the fiestas at a crowded event in the Nuevo Casino Principal in Pamplona. There were large numbers of both visitors and local people in attendance.
The expectation raised for this new recipe from Jose Andrés meant that large queues formed quickly in front of the chef, who proved to be patient and kind over the long one and a half hours that the event covered. He conversed generously with his fans and handed out the drinks himself to the expectant public, and at the same time kept his team of assistants at work.
The new mixture went down well with the public who were surprised at the mixture which Jose Andres described as “a sherbet of Kalimotxo within a half lemon with pop rocks on top”. The chef himself, recently nominated as best chef in The U.S.A., was delighted with the response from the public. “The idea was to get Kalimotxo out of the second division as a drink and to show that it need not just be something for young people.”
Besides some representatives from Kukuxumusu, with Mikel Urmeneta, the creative director of the firm at its head, there were also some well known chefs such as Juan Mari Arzak, who was also ready to try out the kulumutxu. John Hemingway, grandson of the famous writer Ernest Hemingway also was there.
