A bottle of solidarity wine to aid the handicapped
We sure like our wine. We sure like to enjoy ourselves. And we sure like to help people who like both wine and having fun. The Zaragoza Down Association and our friends at the Grandes Vinos winery, who also like having wine and having fun, have jointly launched a special edition of a fine wine in order to obtain some funds for this Association which exists with the aim of supporting the life-enhancement of handicapped people. We have also made our humble contribution to the cause by creating the label for the wine bottle.
The campaign hopes to create awareness about this particular group of handicapped people and to underline the fact that they have the same rights as all of us to enjoy equal opportunities and to do the same things in their daily lives as the rest of us. They have equal rights to education, to work, and even to enjoy themselves in the same way and in the same places as all of us. And that is what we have tried to highlight in our drawing for the label which is displayed on all the wine bottles of this special wine. There is still much to be done for this group in areas such as the right to lead independent lives, to find social acceptance, to participate in public life, to have their own legal rights, etc.
Over the previous eight earlier campaigns with this solidarity wine, the Zaragoza Down Foundation obtained an income of 116.702 euros which was spent on several different projects within the association. On this occasion, and thanks to the wine bottling carried out by the Grandes Vinos winery, the main target is to raise funds to help a Housing Program for handicapped people that will help them to become more independent and self-sufficient.
The wine can be purchased Online at the Grandes Vinos web page. According to what we have been told, the wine has an intense crimson color, with a strong aroma of cherries, raspberries and paprika, with a touch of cocoa and vanilla. Inside the mouth it gives off a fine balanced taste with a good acidity and fine tannin. A real marvel for the palate. Go for it.
