A most inspirational diary for 2016, with Punset and Kukuxumusu
A diary for 2016, with 53 catchphrases from Punset, accompanied with illustrations in the singular style of Kukuxumusu. This is the latest collaboration between the famous media scientist and our own ‘kiss of the flea.’ An inspiring project and “quite amazing” as Punset might well have expressed it, and which is now on sale at our Online Shop.
One day we read in a book from Eduard Punset the following sharp observation: “There is nothing more captivating than knowing what is happening to us inside”. On hearing that, our sheep, which had been peacefully chewing the cud, went wild with delight. So, we asked the maestro if he could give us a whole pile of those catchphrases that come out in a conversation and which leave everyone wanting to be on your side.
Punset, who really is a nice guy, sent us in a balsamic jar filled with his catchphrases. Here, he touches on almost everything that is important to our lives: love, sex, life, friendship, happiness… As we well know that there are many faithful fans of this prolific broadcaster, we have illustrated his sayings with our peculiar Kukuxumusu sense of humor and put them together in this diary format.
Produced by the Catalonian trademark, Miquelrius, who also make our satchels and stationery material, this new diary is nice and light and comes bound in spiral form and set out in a weekly format. The covers are made of hard cardboard and inside there is a template outline for scribbling or drawing in some things.
We propose that for 2016, which, by the way, is a leap-year, and so will have 366 days, to have a weekly phrase from the maestro. For example, we might remember something important for our general health like “Sex, like memory, if not put in use, will disappear.” Or, perhaps in moments of tedium, a simple thought like “without emotion there can be no aspirations” would soon get us back into action again.
And if you are stuck for an idea for your Twitter, you could fill in a catchphrase such as “The brain does not change its opinion, and much less, its party”. But remember, you should always cite Punset, and don’t botch things up like the Guardia Civil did just lately. You will see how your followers warm to it and get hooked on the observations.
This is by no means the first time that Punset has collaborated with Kukuxumusu. In 2005 he gave us the little gem “With the right culture, I’ll live forever”, for a drawing of ours about the investigations into stem cells for our T-shirt ‘Stem Cells’. Some years later, in 2010, we created a second project under the title, ‘Neuronas’, with another catchphrase: “None of your neurons know who you are… nor do they care”. It was such a success at the time that this year we have reedited the T-shirt, coinciding with the 26 Anibestiary of the founding of our Factory of Ideas and Drawings.
These days, Punset is currently doing the rounds talking about his new book “Letter to my grandchildren; all that I have learned and which has moved me.” (Ed. Planeta, 2015) and in this most personal of all his works, he has written a book which is highly recommendable. So if you are stuck for ideas about getting seasonal gifts or presents, you now have some possible ideas such as the Diary, the Neuronas T-shirt, or this latest book from Punset… All guaranteed to please.
